  • Adventure Activities

    Arborek Island

Visit a Papuan village and get up-close with manta rays.

Home to a friendly and welcoming community of Papuan descent, the tiny Arborek Island (it takes just 10 minutes to walk around it) is also home to a significant manta ray reef complex. At low tide, a lot of the reef is exposed and it is in these shallow channels that the manta rays like to feed and get cleaned. All around Arborek Island are excellent snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding spots.

    Dayang & Birie Island

A rewarding and one-of-a-kind inner coastal waterway journey.

In this leg of the cruise, Aqua Blu charts a picturesque passage between the major island of Bantata and smaller clusters of islands between Dayang & Birie, stopping for a whole gamut of activities in the nature-rich area. Discover birds of paradise on inland forest walks, or dive to explore mangroves and a wreckage of World War II P47D fighter plane near Wai.

    Kabui Bay

An expansive inland sea with unique sights and experiences.

Sailing into Kabui Bay, explorers have the oppotunity to discover remote local villages that are adorned spectacular caves. Some of these caves are full of bats, others have been used for burials in ancient times, and some may feature ancient rock art.

    Cape Kri

A marine sweet spot with impressive biodiversity in the nutrient-rich Dampier Strait.

Incredibly nutrient-rich because of the currents it receives from the Indonesian Thoroughflow, Cape Kri in the Dampier Strait supports an amazing number of reef fish that form part of a massive marine food chain in full display. You may well witness nature in full motion in a single dive or snorkel, with pelagic species such as whales trying to feed on smaller fish.

Cape Kri is also known for its manta ray cleaning stations, where these massive creatures queue up to get their skin, gills and teeth cleaned by parasitic copepods and a variety of small cleaner wrasse species — an amazing sight to behold.

    Wayag

The most iconic of the Raja Ampat islands with its surreal karst landscapes and atolls.

As you pull into Wayag, deep blue waters turn to turquoise and mushroom-shaped islets appear before your eyes. This is a protected cluster of islands on the edge of the Pacific where the mostly shallow waters are miraculously calm, as if Mother Nature has sculpted an elaborate landscape for creatures needing a respite from the harsh wilderness.
