Cruising and Coronavirus: iExpedition’s Guide to Travelling Safely

News

Coronavirus (Covid-19). It’s having rampant ripple effects throughout the globe. This is a tricky time for everyone, from individuals to small- and large-scale businesses, and we’re sure you’re aware by now that the situation is rapidly changing on a day-to-day basis.

iExpedition is an expedition cruising agency and we partner with a number of cruise operators, many of which are small businesses and each with their own respective Terms and Conditions. This will now include individual policies on Coronavirus.

This means that, unlike other businesses, we can’t put out a one-size-fits-all statement.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t help.

We want you to know that we’re here for you.

We understand that you’ve saved up and have so been looking forward to your 2020 adventure. It breaks our hearts that it can’t happen right now. At iExpedition believe we have a duty of care to you, our travellers, and we’re doing our absolute best to ensure you get the most up-to-date information you need and to answer any questions you have about your upcoming expedition cruise at this time.

“I would like to postpone my cruise.”

We wholeheartedly understand that you may choose to postpone your expedition cruise. Please email or call us to discuss working with your respective cruise operator on a favourable solution for you.

“I am considering cancelling my cruise.”

As disappointing as it is, we realise that you may want to cancel your cruise at this time. We must advise that due to the differing policies of operators that refunds may not be an option, however, we will do our utmost to work on a favourable solution for you.

If you are in a position to postpone your travel, we encourage you to do so. Not only does this support the operator you’ve booked with and help ensure their ongoing success through this challenging period, but it also means you’ll still have the adventure you’ve been dreaming about.

“My cruise has been cancelled. Help!”

We’re so sorry to hear this. If this has happened to you, it’s because your health and safety is the ultimate priority of your cruise operator. Please email us at info@iexpedition.com or call us on 1800 960 577 and we will discuss what options are available to you going forward.

“I have flights and accommodation booked. What can I do about those?”

You’ll need to reach out to your airline and hotel to find out their respective cancellation policies are. If you booked these through a travel agency, we recommend deferring to them for assistance.

“I’m booked in, but yet to travel. Can I talk to you about my options?”

Absolutely! We are here for you.

As countless businesses and industries across the globe navigate these challenging waves, we want to reiterate that we’re here for you. We are specialists in expedition cruising and we will continue to draw on our decades of experience and strong, long-term relationships with our partners to find the best outcome for you.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us via email at info@iexpedition.com or phone on 1800 960 577 with any questions or queries you may have at this time.

Stay safe and please remember, if you don’t go out you can’t get sick.
