Northern Lights cruise in Norway
Spotting the dancing lights, known as Aurora Borealis, is a bucket list item for many travellers. From the end of September until the beginning of April is the best time to spot the lights. Especially during the long winter days in December and January, you are more likely to spot the dancing lights. As you might know, it is a nature phenomenon, therefore it is never guaranteed that it is visible.
The expedition cruise takes you through the majestic fjords of northern Norway. The snowy mountain peaks rise up from the fjords, which makes for breathtaking scenery.
Day 1 - Evenes or Tromso; Embarkation Day
Arrival at Evenes or Tromso airport and transfer to the harbor to board the MV Malmö in the afternoon.
Day 2/6 - Cruising the fjords.
During five full days we sail through the beautiful fjords of northern Norway and spend our days with whale watching, shore visits and zodiac rides.
Expert guides will accompany you on your adventures and share their knowledge about the region, the Northern Lights and wildlife. Be prepared for cold but rewarding days out at sea with spectacular sightings of an unique display of mother nature.
Day 7 - Evenes or Tromso; Disembarkation
Disembarkation and transfer to the airport.
Please consider that our voyages are expeditionary in nature. This means, that there are no concrete itineraries, your captain and expedition leader will utilise their vast experience to chart the best course for your expedition depending on the climatic and environmental conditions. Mentioned highlights and wildlife cannot be guaranteed.
The area of the Lyngen Alps offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Northern Norway. You will start your safari in easy terrain and follow some well-established trails so you can get used to your snowmobile. You continue into a fascinating and unique Arctic, alpine landscape.
You make several stops on the way so you can enjoy the fascinating surroundings of mountains, lakes, forest and Fjords. Back at the camp we will serve you a freshly made fish soup with locally baked bread.
There will be two guests on one snowmobile who can change seats halfway.

Complete your Norway experience with a thrilling Husky safari where you can drive your own sled!
After a short explanation about how to handle the dogs and sledges, you will get your equipment and your team (2 people per team). The huskies love running through the wilderness and clear air of the beautiful Breivikeidet valley, and will be your friends for life when you return. The husky ride lasts approx 1 hour and 30 minutes (around 15 km). Each team is doing their own ‘mushing’ during this fantastic experience and the musher and passenger may change places halfway through the trip.

On top of Norway’s natural beauty is of course their primeval history.
On board your expedition all meals are included and prepared by our chefs. Meals are prepared to a restaurant standard and to cater for most diet requirements.
Zodiac excursions each day will take you in close proximity to wildlife. They will be your mode of transport to get up close and in the water with the Orca.
MALMO
The M/S Malmø is a classic vessel built in 1943 in Helsingborg for the Swedish National Maritime Administration and has been in service for many years as an ice-strengthened pilot vessel. She has been heritage listed since 2004. The ship has been totally refitted and has started her career as a comfortable and ice-strengthened expedition vessel in the summer season of 2014. With 7 outside cabins for a maximum of 15- guests she is a marvellous piece of maritime history with beautiful brass details and nice wooden decks. With such a small group, it feels like travelling on a private yacht. You can enjoy an exclusive and personal environment to reconnect with nature, loved ones and themselves. Cruising onboard the Malmø is a memorable and intimate experience; a knowledgeable and personable crew, the ethereal beauty of the landscapes, the fascinating wildlife and activities.
